Best duck feed?

Hi,
Farmers have been raising water fowl in the UK for centuries. Stop by the local feed store and see what they recommend. I happen to use Purina Layer Crumbles and my duck prefer it over everything except peas and worms. I mix a cup of brewers yeast into every 25Lbs bag. I start the babies on it as soon as they reach the stage where they are beginning to lose the fluffy down and adult feathers start coming in. I think it is around 8 weeks. They still have some fluff but there is a spikiness from the adult feathers.

I hope that helps. I am no expert, I just have had ducks for a few years and I am raising two babies right now. I am sure you will do just fine.

Thank you for your recommendations! I'm going to ask about the purina flock raiser and the purina duck feed and see if they carry it in stock or I can order it.
I'd rather stay away from the basic bags of feed as I'm not sure if they're just filled with lower quality ingredients. I always say you get way you pay for, especially when it comes to pet food!
If I can't find the Purina I'll do what @Miss Lydia suggested and use the feed we have at the mo with the nutrional yeast until we can find something else. 😁

Our ducks love the Purina duck pellets, we've comparison tested them with other types of feed and they always go for those pellets 1st. Purina flock raiser worked well too.
It is way more expensive to order online, ive seen the duck pellets go for like $65 a bag on one site.
Our Tractor Supply has had a heck of a time keeping a lot of things in stock lately with everything going on so it might be a bit harder to find at the moment.

I agree 100%. It's for ducks at all stages of life which makes things so much easier! If your TSC doesn't get it MAKE them get it. Be persistent and they will get it in eventually!
