Best duck for eating grasshoppers

This year the grasshoppers have been insane and I need to fix it so they don't destroy my garden. What's the best breed to do this, is it Muscovy runner or what. Maybe gunnies.

I just hatched my first Dutch Hookbill so I have been doing alot of research on them. They are considered one of the very best. But, research also says the others you named are very good too.

Runners are known to be amazing foragers. I don't know if they necessarily prefer grasshopper specifically but my runner ducks go after any bugs they find.

Rare, yes, but there are breeders around the country. You just can’t get them from Tractor Supply. Price depends where and how big or old they are when you get them. I have found a very kind lady who raises them just outside of St.Louis. Her hatching eggs were $30 a dozen if I remember correctly. I currently only have one that hatched this morning so I will report back in a few months.

I have pekin , khaki , pekin x khaki and Swedish. All of mine go crazy for grasshoppers
I can’t speak for breeds I don’t own but these guys all did a dent in them last year

I have Muscovy, Runners and Buffs plus chickens of various breeds, we use to be overrun with grasshoppers, not anymore.

Those are Indian Runners.
Mine catch bees mid-flight!
