best egg-laying duck breed????

I've got a Metzer farms golden hybrid 300 and when she's laying I get about 7 eggs every 5 days. She's a really prolific layer and not as flighty in the head as a khaki campbell. I sell my duck eggs for $5-$7 a dozen.

Reviving this old thread to get peoples opinions on this.

I have had the Golden 300's and they are amazing layers. They are a hybrid breeds mix so they don't breed true. I am curious as to everyone's opinion as to what they think is the best laying breed. Particularly any info on any of the following breeds which have been said to be amazing layers.

I have heard great things about the Khaki Campbells. Metzer says they have with theirs 165 - 210 /yr.
Another I have interest in is Welsh Harlequin. Holderreads says they get about 260 to 350 white eggs per female annually.
I have no personal interest in Runner ducks but Metzer lists them as having 100 - 180 /yr.
Anconas are harder to find but another breed I have read good things about. Plus they are so cute. Worth it farms says they get 260-280 eggs per year per girl.
Holderreads has Silver Appleyards that they recommend as good egg layers but they don't list approximate eggs per year.
The last breed I have interest in is the Golden Cascades. They are listed as good layers and the drakes when breed to other breeds gives sex-linked babies. No mention of eggs per year just that they are a good layer. I am very interested in any experience people have had with them.

I know that the higher numbers are boosted with artificial light. Anyone who has had a couple of these breeds, if you could give a comparison on temperament, size, and egg laying. I know different strains will perform differently. I have heard great things about Holderreads birds and I have personally gotten very healthy ducklings (golden 300s) from Metzers. If a person has interest in breeding good quality birds down the line for themselves but more interest in just getting lots of eggs, which farm/hatchery would you go with?

i heard Indian runners are the absolute best for eggs! i have four. try some (really cute)

I've raised the Metzer Farms Golden 300 Hybrid and those ducks are champion egg layers. Sometimes I would get 2 eggs a day from my ducks. I haven't had a flock in a couple of years but I bought some ducklings this spring because they were such prolific layers.
