Our lovely ladies are coming up over 15 weeks. While we still have time, I have been wonderijg how to manage their diet needs with the rest of the flock- including 4 ducks (who are a week older and due to lay soon as well), and six 7 week old chicks.

I’ve seen a lot of back and forth on if you should have layer feed, or just offer Eggshells on the side. In a mixed flock like this, what’s the best option? How can I balance the needs of laying hens with young pullets ? Should We ever feed layer, or just keep an offering of oyster/egg shells? And, past their two year prime, of feeding layer feed should I stop? thanks!

Check it here. This might help your flock in laying eggs. I found it through some recommendations and it really works on my chickens. It also helps my chicken who has already stopped laying lay soft eggs again.

I would continue with that and oyster shell on the side for those that need the calcium. A niacin supplement for the ducks maybe. I don't have ducks and your all flock may have the proper amount.
It does, and I give them niacin dusted food when I take hem out to swim!
