Best foragers?

I want to get a chicken that's able to free range most of it's food( feed prices) I've heard jersey giants are good free rangers and forage most of there food. Please help if you can!

IMO Speckeled Sussex are excellent foragers. However, they wander very far and very often. But they're a very personable and curious breed as well.

There are many good foraging chicken breeds out there. Andalusian, wyandotte, australorp, buckeye, campine, dominique, fayoumi, java, maran, new hampshire red, old english game, orpington, barred rock, sussex and welsummer to name several.

During the warmer months, that's correct. But in the cold months when they can't forage well, they will eat a lot of chicken feed.
