Free range backyard chickens rock! The best thing about free ranging poultry is in my opinion watching them do natural behaviors unadulterated by confinement. Here are 2 of my banty ameraucanas coparenting their collective 3 peeps in my backyard (no coop). Here they are feeding the peeps bits of bread:

The hens are named Chicken Little and Henny Penny; peeps are as yet unnamed. Photo taken in my backyard 12/10/08.
