Best Grain Mill/Grinder for cracked grains?

I don't mix my own feed so I don't mill my own grains period if I did mil my own grains, the mil that I would use would be dependent largely on how much grain I was milling at a time period that said I would probably select a Burr. Type grinder similar to what I would use if I was breaking grains for making beer again. And if I was being terribly lazy about it, I would simply connect my electric drill to the handle, or at least the handle shaft for the manual drug grinder, and use that to accelerate the process period variable speed drill, of course. Because of its greater torque, an impact driver would be even better.

But again, I don't grind my own, so this is entirely theoretical. If I did grind my own, I'd be mixing it in a concrete mixer, one third horse, so you can imagine that my needs are probably different from the typical

Well, was just hoping for alittle help with something mid-sized, hand cranked.
Wouldn't need to make tons, as it's just for experimenting with finishing meat birds.

Burr type grinder? Do those do course/cracked, or fine? I just want course/cracked grain mill.

Burr type grinde4s are adjustable, and crack the grain, not more. That's why they are used in brewing. A very fine grain would plug up the works.
By simply cracking the grain, the carbohydrates inside are exposed to allow the hot water and later the yeast to do its work without making a powder fine it plugs up the plumbing. I'll have to look for the one my homegrown store used

Victoria Burr grinder is I think what we used period mechanical hand crank period would probably go for one of the square rather than round intake hoppers,, now. Just easier to pour things into. But that should give OP hint of a direction.

What's exactly the purpose of cracking grains? Don't chickens normally eat the grains whole?
Even my broodies feed whole wheat to their 3 day olds and the chicks never had an issue.
