I want to get some Red Star chicks but they dont have them where i live so does anyone no of a good hatchery in the USA.

I've used McMurray and Welp, and have been very happy with them. Got "Red Stars" (aka Red Sexlinks) from McMurray and they were awesome layers of big eggs.

I also got some "Cinnamon Queens" (aka Red Sexlinks) from a friend who got them from Cackle Hatchery and they were great layers as well. They also varied quite a lot in color, some of them really dark, other lighter. One was cherry red, quickly fading to pure white. Several were golden with beautiful white spangles on their necks. Everyone of them was really pretty. My Red Sexlinks from McMurray weren't quite as pretty, but they laid the huge eggs!

Just like chicken breeds, everyone has their own opinion on what is the best hatchery. Just choose what is closest to you, and/or choose what you feel is best. There's a lot out there, some big companies and some smaller ones. . .

I was wanting to buy frm McMurray but didn't know if they were a good hathcery or not.

Welp Hatchery has a free catalog. Cackle Hatchery has a free catalog. Ideal Poultry has a free "price list."

I would check out the Isa Browns from townline if you're looking for good layers.

It's a little far from MO but I have heard good things. I live in Michigan (the state where they are located) and the people around here all seem to swear by them. Best of luck on your search!
