Best Heated Waterer

would it work, if i found a heated dog bowl big enough, to put the regular chicken waterer, poultry fountain whatever you call it, into the heated dog bowl?

Like, instead of the ice cream bucket, just sticking the whole waterer in?

I don't think that there is a best, but living where it is COLD in the winter I was all ears reading/listening to ideas to not have frozen water for my chickens.
I'm with RonP with the cookie tin water heater.
It really can't be more simple than this:
Cement block in the coop with a cookie tin sitting on it, plugged into a thermo cube and GF outlet. A 2 gal. galvanized waterer on the cookie tin. 40 watt bulb in the tin. 3 wire to the bulb, with the ground fastened to the tin.
Tonight it will be in the single digits and hasn't been in the 30's for a while now. NO frozen water and I'm sure that tomorrow morning there will be no frozen water.
I have two of the galvanized waterers so I can switch them out every couple days.

After I took this pic I added a red night light to the other side to see when it was on, which is all the time at these temps.
