yesterday I received my Brinsea EcoGlow-20 and I am getting 3 Hyline chicks on Thursday. I have no experience with heat plates at all and I would like some experience/advice.

Start at the lowest height. It’s okay that they have to duck underneath. They press themselves up against it like it were a hen. I raise it at approximately one week and then two weeks and then at three weeks they are off heat indoors.

This is the video I used to learn how to remove the sides. Very easy:

I am getting 2 week old chicks so I guess ill raise it one level, But he is using a screw driver, I imagine it is very hard to get back on?

Not at all. Once you do it a couple times, it becomes very easy. It doesn’t require nearly as much force as you think, just something hard enough not to bend to remove it, like the screwdriver.

Wow, that was a lot easier then I thought. However the second height looks far to tall for 2 week old chicks?

You can always adjust it as you want to. It’s quite versatile. I’m currently using mine at night to keep my three bantams (7-11 weeks) warm as they spend the coldest nights in our shed instead of outside.
