Hey kinda on the fence with Sour looked like black boy white girl? Here also.
I am happy the all black here is a cockerel as he has the ability to grow up here take my girls good care.

Widget is full on broody. I put her in the crate yesterday afternoon. Last night and tonight are supposed to be cool (upper 50s/low 60s), and I'm hoping she breaks quickly. It's supposed to get HOT by Thursday and Friday. Heat indices of 105°.

I thought it hadn't been that long since she was last broody, and I was right: June 5th. Geez, girl.

That's crazy hot!
Savannah is still at it. I tossed her off the nest again last night and she nearly landed on one of the kids she hatched this year! Give it a rest already.

Looks like a white pullet and a black cockerel to me - just sayin'.

Astrid is sitting tight and I only saw that little white COCKEREL pop his head out for a look see. Why, by George, he even gave a tiny little crow!

I'll settle this. The white chick is either a pullet or a cockerel. The black chick is either a cockerel or a pullet.

Tassels has her beat. I finally managed to break her after just over 6 weeks being broody on June 23rd.
She went broody again on July 16th.

Basically she spends two thirds of her time broody.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! It is supposed to rain later on. MORF called off due to a stomach bug, so I went out with my neighbor to cut some trees. He got a massive dead tree hung up and it became a 3 hour tour of sketchiness. Still here to complain about it!
Today I am off to take my DAF to 2 doc appts and get some food shopping done.
Mundane and sane, hopefully!

Tomorrow is my chiropractor appointment.

It is very difficult for me to type "chiropractor." I automatically type "chicken" and then have to correct it. Something about c-h-i just automatically leads to c-k-e-n.

Only 6 babies made it. Two died during hatch and were still stuck in the membrane. That's never happened before.
Astrid is off the nest. Just the 1 black chick. One clear ermine and 2 other 'possibly' ermines. If they are, they might not end up with enough black feathers to be considered good breeders.

She showed them how to use the baby bottle just before she settled down with them.
