So I'm thinking of getting an incubator, and have been looking at the reviews for incubators in the 50-200 range, and haven't found any that looked good in the reviews. What do you people use, and how well do they work for inexperienced hatchers?

I have a fair number of hens that go broody, and I want to get an incubator that I can put eggs in, so that if the hen doesn't hatch anything (which seems to be typical), I can graft the incubated chicks to the hen, because of this, any incubator I get doesn't need to hold a whole lot of eggs, 6 would probably be fine, though I'd probably like one that could hold 10-12 or so, if there is a good one... (In case multiple hens go broody at once)

Thank you for your time!

If you aren't opposed to a bit of work you can make an incubator that a lot of people seem to use.

There are a lot of guides out there. You can make one for about $20 if you have a spare cooler (igloo/foam/other). If not just factor in the cost of the cooler.

This is what I've done and have my first batch of eggs in there now. I'm incubating quail.

Just FYI, you can buy an analog temp controller at lowes/homedepot for $8-9, but if you look on ebay/amazon you can get a digital one for 15-20.
