Best layer feed???

What is the best layer feed? what are some of your favorites that you use?

I have been using Dumors organic 16% layer pellets with some grit mixed in. So far it works well!

I haven't found a favorite yet and I've been buying feed for over 2 yrs I can tell you I don't like dumor it's very dusty and I think it gave my chickens poopy butts. Imo I'm now trying nutrena

I like Purina Flock Raiser, with oyster shell on the side. It works great for all my birds, either the currently laying hens, or all the others. It's always fresh where I shop too.
It's worked better then the Layena that I fed long ago.

2x mettlebubus - Dumor gave my girls soft, stinky poo
2x Folly's place - LOVE Flock Raiser with Oyster Shells in a separate dish & grit in an other, no more having to switch.

I also ferment my feed, love the benefits especially firmer poop, less poop & no stinky ... However the cecal still stinks, can't have it all Check out KikisGirls article, she did up a feed comparison chart

Well now I will have to watch for runny and stinky poop. I didn’t know that. thanks!

Since I'm a balla' on a budget, I just get whatever's cheapest or on sale...... could be Nutrena, could be Dumor, also could be Bubba's Backyard Buffet for Chickens. With me, you just never know.

I use blue seal multiflock with oyster shell on the side......I think that's what works best all 'round

I have dogs, cats, and horses, and find chicken feed very very inexpensive! And, good food pays off.
