Best Layers

Hi, I'm about to add 6-8 new chicks to my flock. I enjoy a variety & I am thinking of adding New Hampshire, Delaware, Production Red. I'd be interested for input about the laying & personality of these choices.

The New Hamps will stay the course and be there laying when the last song is sung. Very mild tempered too.

Golden Comets are a very good all around chicken. Very easy to sex too.

Production Red.

Of these, I'd go with the Hamps, first choice. Del's next and Red's last.
My reason? The Hamps will breed true. The others are relatively new hybrids, as such things go. Later generations will tend to reversion pretty quickly.
