best layers?

Which breed lays the most eggs,grows fast and is broody ?

I would go with a RIR, Austrolorp, or for good broodies, a cochin, silkie, or BO. The best layer is the leghorn, but they don't go broody.

if you go to certain websites, like meyer hatchery.com, they have a list of all the breeds and if theyre broody or not, or if they are good layers.

I have an Austrolorp that is a great layer. Nice eggs always and hardly misses a day.

marans x americana (olive egger) I have 5 of these and even in the winter they lay 3 - 5 eggs a day

Well if they are going broody all the time, then they aren't going to be laying lots of eggs. But if you want a bird thay lays good and has a possibility of going broody, I would pick an Astralorp, Wyandotte, or Easter Egger. I've also had 4 different Black Sex Links go broody and they're great layers.
