Best Material For Chicken Run Floor?

Hi

I've got 2 chickens in a Coop outside. I use Wood Shavings for the inside of the Coop itself but I'm wondering what can I put on the run flooring outside as the chicken poo is ruining the patio flooring and staining it.

I've read a few articles on using Sand as it's cheap and easy to clean but which type of sand would be best for the Run? I need something low maintenance, as of right now I'm cleaning the run out fully everyday which is becoming tiring and time consuming.

Welcome to BYC!!! get a second opinion but i think it works to use play sand.
