Best neighbors?

I think I might have the best "chicken" neighbor ever. She is a gardening fanatic and is about half deaf. She didn't hear the first rooster I had at all (he was loud enough that the neighbors down the hill heard him) and finally is hearing the very loud giant rooster and loves it! The nest boxes are on the side of the coop facing her house, but she will never hear the hens singing since she is half deaf.

She grows lots of tomatos and things....and throws her 'bad' veggies over the fence for the chickens to eat. She mentioned today how chicken poop is great for the garden. Guess who is going to help me dispose of my chicken poop? I used to keep the chickens all locked up and she wanted to know when they were going to get to be loose in the yard. I think she wanted them to be able to come up to the fence to visit. Which is good since the only fence they seem to fly over is the one on her side (now they had their flight feathers clipped...so far so good).


When I had my horse at home, she used to throw apples over the fence from her tree and would take part of my manure pile for her garden.

She is a winner!

Anyone else have any awesome neighbors? We hear so much about the bad ones that I want to hear about the good ones. My other neighbors aren't bad, they just aren't quite as AWESOME as the 'old lady' next door (ha).

my neighbor is pretty awesome when we are out feeding the animals he comes up to the fence and talks to us and he is always throwing over pairs and apples and other things from his garden to our animals!! He also volunteered to fix my car!!

and the other one has chickens to though his are not as loud!! lol but here lately they have been remodeling there house and when our roosters crow, they crow back them its quite funny!!!

Our neigbours from hell finally moved out after 11 years of constant abuse. we now have new neighbours who are fantastic ....
everything is peaceful once more ......

I have lived here in this spot for over 10 yrs. now. I can't actually see any of my neighbors. I call anyone who lives within 2 miles of me my neighbors and every single one of them are awesome!! You would think we were all family

After hearing such horror stories from people on here who have rotten neighbors, it makes me alot more thankful for where I live!

we have neighbors on both sides and behind us, on the left is Ron he is retired police and wonderful, he LOVES the chickens, and NEVER uses his back yard so he doesnt care what we have, and when I told him I thought we had a rooster bantam, he replied good, I like to hear them crow. on the right is Gloria, she is 70 volunteers at the redcross and talks to herself all the time lol she is great friends with hubby, and rarely speaks to me lol lol
behind us is Ray, he just moved here recently and lives alone he to is older maybe late 60's early 70's and DH and I are in our mid 30's and he has taken a liking to our Chihuahua, and to DH lol he doesnt mind the chickens either! I cant wait til the big girls get to laying because I will be sharing eggs with these neighbors!

Well. I get 2nd hand smoke from my neighbors. There is about 10 - 12 (5 of them kids) that live in a tiny little house and they all seem to go out and smoke at one time. The wind is always blowing towards my house...so I know when they are outside

Other than their cats that have come to eat my chicks and the poopy dog pen that stinks they keep their yard mowed
