I was looking for 1 - 3 chicks but I'm not sure where to get them. I live in southern New Hampshire so I'm looking for places nearby.

Check your local feed stores. That is where I got my first chicks. My Pet Chicken and Meyer hatcheries both have small order programs but they are pricey.

Ideal also lets you order small quantities, but that costs extra and they may send extra chicks for warmth since you didn't originally order very many.

There are many people near you on this board.......I'm sure you will find some on here. I will be hatching but i wont be able to sex the chicks for you. There is a member in Fitzwilliam and another in seabrook that hatch [IMG]

i got my chicks from Tractor Supply last spring, they get them in and you can just go in or you can order from them and they come to your house. Its a lot less costly if you go in and get them. Also as said before you may find someone close by you and you could split and order.

And I'd suggest 3 chicks. One isn't going to be able to socialize well as they are flock birds, 2 is good, but if you lose one, you'll have just one.
