Best Place to get Best Quality Birds?

Hi,

I am possibly interested in starting a breed conservation someday, in order to help bring back some of the rare breeds, and help to bring back the heritage characteristics in some of the farm favorites. I know this is probably the dream of everyone on here, but I've been thinking a lot about it, and once my own flock gets old and dwindles on it's own naturally and peacefully, I thought about buying some land to raise them similar to how P. Allen Smith does it, out in the open. His birds are beautiful, and I would love to start out with his stock for my own breeding stock.

So my question is:

Where is the best place to get high quality breeding stock?

Depends on the breed you want. You probably should start with one or two breeds you can commit to, and find breeders with stock that fits your requirements.
