Hello everyone. I was testing the temperature in my incubator after having a failed hatch (was told it was due to high humidity) and my two thermometers were reading about 97 F. When I set my new batch of eggs I set the temperature of the incubator according to the thermometers, but when I moved one of the thermometers it read 104 F! Which part of the incubator is best to put the thermometers? It is a forced air incubator. I have turkey eggs in my incubator and I had the thermometer hanging from the top in between them, but not touching. Here is a picture of the incubator I have. It’s one of the cheaper ones. It read 104 F when I hung it in the middle, but not under the fan. Thanks for the help.

We always recommend reading the temp in our incubators right where the eggs would sit. And not under the fan like you mentioned. If your thermometer sit very low then you can put it up on a matchbox or something to get it to approximately the middle of an imaginary egg.

Thank you for the help. I’m not sure what temperature to go with because the corners read 102 F and near the middle reads 99 F.
