Virus attack on my main user. I'm on my guest user right now.
Tomorrow I'll call Verizon to see if they can do anything. They fixed it last time, which was last year. But last year it wasn't as bad. You see if I try to us internet explorer, a window comes up telling me to use this anti virus thing called WIN 2011 Anti Virus, or something close to that. I remember on the phone with Verizon, the guy said not to click on any of those things because it's a virus hiding itself as a anti virus program.
I did some research on fixing my laptop. But it's tricky. Restoring the whole hardrive back to brand new mode, I would but I have no back up and I don't know how to back up my files. I'm not a techie.
I know the place where I would go would do the same, with or without back up. Should I just restore my laptop to brand new mode or get back up first? What is back up? I hope it doesn't cost money.
I can't do a thing on my main user without those anti virus things popping.
Wait. Why isn't the Verizon doing anything? We got the internet and it came with virus protection and everything. *Additional note - My firewall is turned off in order for me to play a MMORPG. It's a world wide game so I wouldn't think it's dangerous since alot of people play it. But could that have done it? Turning off the firewall?
I know this is a chicken website. But I can't/trust other places.
