Best protection from small predators

We have small rodents mice, squirrels, chipmunks etc. would like to know how to keep my chicks safe any ideas would be a lot of help sine this is my first time Thank you for the help Laurelton, P. A.
 
those that you mentioned are not much danger to chickens.
they will help eat the feed, though.
the weasel and mink are the small ones to watch out for. don't leave any hole larger than 3/4" for them to get through.
that is accomplished by using 1/2" hardware cloth for fencing.

This isn't what you want to hear, but if that 'coop' is still unused, return it! You will do much better without a little prefab unit!!!
The best coop design out there, IMO, is the Woods coop. Second would be a modified shed or garden shed. Cheapest is a hoop coop. All will be far superior to that cute little rabbit hutch design.
