Linksys gave me all sorts of trouble with the first wireless router I tried to hook up to our DSL. I tried on several occassions to get the darn thing hooked up. Finally we went out and just bought a new one (The first, older one was given to us) and now the internet works fine. If its an older linksys model, it may be the reason why it keeps disconnecting. The older models were notorious for that.

Congrats on getting the netbook though! A friend of mine wants one and they look pretty neat. I'm not sure if I would use one, but it would probably be convenient for classes and such.

I wish it were the router giving the issues. Unfortunately, that one is ALL laptop. You jostle it, BAM connection lost. I have been in the middle of downloads where it disconnects, then blue screens for some reason. Oh, then there's the disc drive that randomly falls out of the computer.

I have a HP laptop and I never had any problems with anything with it. We do have AT&T router and wireless connections between my main computer and the laptop so hubby and I can get online at the same time. It worked GREAT! Most of the problems we have is only our internet provider going thru changes or updating.

Besides I do not like to buy cheap laptops, you get what you pay for LOL!

I'd like to get a laptop in addition to my PC that I've got. What exactly is the difference between the netbooks and a laptop. The laptop you can do more stuff on?

The laptop has:
CD/DVD drive (since mine falls out anyway, not much of a loss)
More memory


Netbook has:
smaller size


I was only wanting it for internet and possibly Microsoft Office for those projects I do. I only have photos/videos that I save, other than that...the netbook is perfect for my needs. The laptop...I'd like to burn it thanks to all the issues with it, but if I turn it in 2 more times for the same problems, I get a completely new computer.
