Thank you all for your responses. You've given me a lot to think about. Still swaying towards the Black Copper Marans because I find them so beautiful. I'm on the fence about my neighbor. I don't want to purposely piss him off, but I don't like him either. He has his house for sale so my main goal is to get my roo before it sells, so the new owner definitely can't complain. I live outside of city limits and there are no restrictions so there really isn't anything they can do anyway. I think the 28 hound dogs on the other side of me can be more annoying...

I can go days and not even hear my Cochin roo crow. When I do hear him he is very low volume - about half as loud as a Silkie. Not only that, but the crow duration is also very short.
