My hope is to have my coop built on skids so I can move it around and always have fresh grass in the run. My plan is to have an 8x8 coop with a hoop coop for the run which will be 16x8. The coop and run will be able to be separated so they can be moved.

I would make the overhang very small if any then to help keep the wind from catching up under it. and maybe make the skids longer so it makes the base a little wider..... Then you could sand bag the skids if you need to make it stay put. Just a thought.

LOL. I get snow... about 72 hours worth total for the year....

but then again 105-115 summer time temps and 10 inches a year of precip that includes the snow. So every where has a trade off....
