My Golden Comets lay extra large to jumbo eggs almost daily, they are nice chickens too, my RIR's are my friendliest chickens.

Australorps!!! or Golden Comets. Australorps are world record holders for egg production, and they have wonderful friendly personalities! I have one that will follow my 8 yr old son around like a puppy! Very friendly, and curious little things they are. Ours laid much earlier than our other breeds, and lay daily, all year long these jumbo + sized eggs. I think everybody should at least have one!

Marans lay large-x large their eggs are dark choclate colored too. From what i'v heard Marans are very friendly, the hens go broody readily.

Can't beat a Plymouth Rock for disposition and egg size, plus consistency of laying as well.
