What is best size run. How many chickens do you keep in each run and coop

The general rule of thumb is 4sf/chicken in the coop and 10sf/chicken for the run. You will be most happy with a run with enough head room that you can stand without ducking or crawling around.

I think it all depends on if you free range also. I admit my run isn't the biggest but i let my birds out now that they are getting bigger

i have to duck my head a bit when walking in it but not much and im really only in the run to open the front door. It's 5 1/2' tall 8'and wide 12'it long 5'you of the run goes under the coop for cover
