I am new to the whole chicken thing and am looking for suggestions on the best place to buy chicken feed in bulk.

I have 4 hens that are about 10 weeks old and another 4 straight run chicks that are about 3 weeks old that will all be layers ( unless they are Roos). I am looking for a more natural/organic type grower/layer feed that I can purchase in fairly large quantities. I live in Poway and have gotten most of my feed from Elston's, but was wondering if there's a better source.

The 10 week old chickens free range most of the day, and I expect that the younger one will be out and about in another 3-4 weeks as well.

Thanks in advance!:D

So did you ever find out the best place? I'm up in Escondido and have been relying on Hawthorne's so far. But would be open to other sources. Just curious what kind of feed are you using? I'm about to switch from grower to layer with my first four girls and am deciding what to go with. Most likely leaning for something organic but I just don't know yet.

Escondido Feed & Supply on Rock Springs. I got my chicks there on 7/13/15 and they were very helpful and had lots of feed to choose from as well as oyster shell and treats. Chick selection was great too!
