I didn't know anything about chickens until I was 17, when we adopted our first ex-battery hens :)
I've tried all sorts with Isabel, worming, clearing the coop out so they just have newspaper (although I use dust extracted wood shavings anyway), ACV in their water, clearing all the run out and putting fresh woodchips down, moving all flowers in pots away from the run etc, nothing seems to help!

Have tried looking down her throat but cannot find anything, and the others haven't caught it. Bit of a worry when two start doing it though, sometimes they can fight it off themselves, I usually intervene and take to the vets when I notice they're not being their usual selves and not eating as much, chickens are so good at hiding their illnesses that I know they need help when they start going off their food x

Hahahahaha cheeky things! One of my hens laid a plant pot for nearly two weeks without me noticing, she was not pleased when I took the plant pot away hahah!
Is that your first green egg? :)

Really!? Nothing works? It could also be something in her lungs I suppose, a chest infection, maybe. Although I think that would have killed sooner...

No it's my second, the first laid right in the middle of the garden by this little rascal --

Hawk (front one) has a crooked toe, a shame, we would enter her in a show otherwise!
