Best Treatment for Scaly Leg Mites?

That's typical for Brahma's. Sometimes it's tough to distinguish if it's SLM's due to feather regrowth through the scales. They love to take dust or dirt baths and the dirt gets up under the scales and it looks like SLM feces. We assume it's SLM's including me. I treat for SLM's just in case simply because the mites will consume tissue all the way through the leg or foot. It's best to play it safe.
You also have to treat the roosts that they perch on at night. I use Nu-Stock for both. It's all natural and kills the scaly leg mites. I apply it twice, once every 5 days, done.
If you decide to use it, wear disposable gloves when applying to the feet and legs and shake the tube well before using it. Put a light coat on the roosts as well. When I'm done using it, I put the tube in a ziplock bag and put it away for another time when it might be needed.
It's usually in the equine section at a feed store.
