All domestic turkeys are one breed and the breed is Turkey. There are many varieties of turkeys. All of the ones that I have or have had are seasonal layers. They all have laid eggs at about the same rate when they are laying with some variation due to the individual hen and not a distinct difference due to the variety.

My hens normally start laying in the middle of March and stop laying in October if they haven't already stopped due to being broody and raising poults. Again variations in their laying pattern was due to individual hens and not due to which variety they were.

Some will lay one egg a day while they build up their clutch for sitting and others will lay one egg every other day and some lay two days in a row and take the third day off.

If you want a bird that is going to lay daily all year long then you are going to need to stick to chickens.

I want to sell my turkey eggs. For how much should I sell the dozen? Btw they are fértil...all my male turkey wants to do its to be on top of her. I feel very sorry for her having to carry all that heavy weight all the time.

The value of turkey eggs differs if you are selling them as hatching eggs ($3 to $6 per egg) or if you are selling them for consumption.

If you only have one hen for your tom, I highly recommend that you get more hens and in the meantime get her a turkey saddle to help protect her from injury. If she goes broody you will need to devise a way so that the tom cannot get to her when she is on the nest. Many hens are injured or even killed when a tom tries to breed a hen while on the nest and the hen resists the unwanted mating.

The price of a full grown hen depends on where you live, the time of the year and the supply and demand. Here, I can get $35 per adult hen in the spring but in other places they easily go for $75 each.

We have a local small animal auction every Sunday not far from my farm here in Florida. A trio of turkeys went up for sale this past auction and the auctioneer sold them individually. Hens went for $22.50 each and the tom, a very large healthy one, went for $45. As already stated, time of year has a lot to do with it and the more you're willing to accept the cost of carry for livestock (purchasing in off season), the cheaper the initial price will be, but your investment is higher.
