Best ups back up system for small egg incubator because of extremely unreliable electricity supply.

Hi everyone! I had such dismal results with my last hatch because we frequently have long, unplanned power cuts, sometimes 12 hours at a time, often in the middle of the night when we are sleeping. It was detrimental during lock down. What kind of inexpensive but efficient back up system can I get for next time?

Try buying an incubator that runs on batteries instead

My Genesis Hova-Bator runs off of 12 volt DC. It comes with a transformer so it can be plugged into the wall outlet, but they sell a 12 volt battery power adapter that is a couple of alligator clips to attach it to a 12 volt car battery. A good fully charged deep cycle 200Ah battery should last for 35-40 hours without needing recharging.

I can't say I've even ever seen one, bators require to much power to do that for the length of incubation

A car battery with a solar trickle charger might work as back up.

DEKA AGM group 31 battery will run a small incubator for over a day.

keep a good charger on it all of the time. it will run down at night and charge during the day.
