Chirping
Hi, im going to get straight to the point here.
Recently, we have lost 2 chicks (about 3 months old) to pigs. These pigs are my sisters responsibility, i care for the birds (chickens, ducks.) After loosing one chick, i boarded up the gate that leads to the patch of grass (where the chick died, and where the pigs are often roaming.) These pigs are 2 american new giueene pigs, one with piglets. They are skinny because the piglets drink their milk, so the adult pigs are hungry.. do you see what im saying? Anyways, i board up the gate. No worries, theres another gate but it leads to the driveway, then garden, then chicken coop area, and then the patch of grass. It only takes about 1 minute longer to walk that way. And, there are many more fences and gates making it more of a hassle for chicks to get out. My sister continues to unboard up the gate and open it, leaving it open for like 5 minutes. Chicks could get out then, But her defense is "the gate is shut." Keep in mind, these are young chicks. They can fit under small spaces... ihave rocks running along the bottom of the gate, because they dug holes out. The yard is large and they are fine there, but my sister INSISTS we need to lock them up in a coop now that we lost 2 more. Guess where we lost the other 2? in the patch of grass, where the HUNGRY pigs are.
She wants to put them in this coop that we dont use anymore, i immediately said no because 1, its small. 2, its just dirt. no flowers, no grass, no trees. 3, No sky veiw, and barley any veiw of the outside because its made from pallets. Its where our turkeys sleep during the night (the chicks would only be out there during the day.) I cannot imagine the chicks living in that. Its like a padded room from a pysch ward practically. Its just dirt... and tarp.. and pallet. Thats the veiw. She says it would be safe for them... and i tell her i board up the gate and then she moves it, and if she would just stop doing that we would have never lost 2 more chicks. To which she just stormed inside and told me its the hawks, not the pigs. Hawks could be a possibility, but we have camreas. We could see them getting grabbed, and we havent. I havent seen a hawk circling anywhere near our property in about 2 months. Im convincing my mother to sell those pigs, and my sister showed her "cute" pictures of the pigs, to which ofc made my mom feel more sympathetic towards the pigs. I was so upset. I love my chicks, and my ducks. My sister knows her pigs are eating my chickens, and she sees it upsets me. Her reaction is to blame something else and storm off, just completely ignoring my concerns. and THEN, manipulate my mother into keeping the pigs free roaming and keeping them for longer. And every single time, My sister does this smirk. its like she's ecstatic shes getting her way, watching me loose my most prized possessions, and watching her pigs get away free of charge. Its disgusting. How TF do i get her to stop? Even my mom doesnt like those damn pigs. But my sister just shows her cute pics whenever my mom is thinking about selling them, and then ofc my mom doesnt want too anymore which is emotional manipulation im pretty sure. Im going to continue to let my chicks out and check on them hourly. I try to make their life as good as i can, but i kinda have to deal the cards im dealt with as i am a minor and cant do/buy much.
Sorry for the rant. Just really upset at my sisters ignorance.
any tips on dealing with someone like her?
