Thanks for the advices concerning our rooster that is attacking everybody... I have decided to chop him tomorrow but as he is very aggressive catching him is not that easy. Does it work well to catch with a fishing net in the daytime or is it easier to just grab him at night?

Both work. Different people do it different ways. I do not understand the problem in taking him off of the roost at night and waiting until the next morning to butcher him. They are not going to eat or drink in the dark anyway. Some people starve a chicken for a while before butchering so they empty their intestines. That way they don't worry about nicking the intestines and messing up the meat. I don't worry about that, I just rinse the meat well.

The only possible problem I see is where do you put him until morning. If you are afraid of an aggressive rooster it may be challenging to get him out of a cage.

Thank you!

Maybe I will try at first to catch him with the fishing net and if it doesn't work I will grab him at night, I will decide tomorrow, thanks for the advices

Funny story:
once when I was about 10 one of our mean roosters escaped his pen and was roaming the property. My mom and I borrowed a long-handled net from our neighbor and she came over to help. The rooster jumped into the coop, which is big enough to stand in, and I hopped in after him with my net. Well, he turned around and started heading for the door, so my mom and the neighbor slammed it shut. After a second or two, they realized that they’d just locked a ten-year-old kid in the coop with an aggressive rooster, so they opened the door to see me standing there with the roo dangling grumpily in the net. :D
