Good morning all
I was wondering how you guys feed them treats our chicks love pretty much anything but when I put a lid like thing in their pen with what ever on whether it is oatmeal or yogurt or mashed egg or whatever they tend to get their shavings all in it ..How do you guys do it? TY

I have a dishpan that I use in their run. I don't have shavings in their run & the dishpan gets rinsed often & washed at least once a week. We go out & dump a bowl of scraps in their dishpan.

That is a great idea :) Once we have them all in their coop area it will probably be better as they wont have the shavings any more but right now we still have them inside cause it has been cold other then that last few days . The coop should be ready for them sometime this weekend I jut want to make sure they are all going to Be ok outside :)

When I give treats inside the coop, they get shavings all over everything, too. I do use a deep, dishpan like container. . . it helps a little. When weather is nice I give the treats outdoors in the run. . . they get dirt in them, but not shavings.

I use the dish pan for leftover treats, for lettuce and things I have a homade deal I made. It is two hanging planters (the bowl type) held together with locking clips that came with them for the chain I just placed chicken wire at the bottom of it, (to hold the treats into it) place the lettuce or cabbage what ever greens I may have for them into it close it up tight and then hang it from the feed post hanger just above their shoulders, you want a real fun time watch them go at that for awhile it looks like chicken tether ball

it is so much fun and only cost me 2 bucks at the dollar tree for the 2 hanging baskets the chicken wire I already had along with the wire to hang it with,(the chain was to weak.)
