So i have seen pictures of people hatching chicken in egg cartons.
Is that a good way ? I'm not sure, but would like some in put.

What do you put in your incubator during hatching?
last year I put the eggs on cupcake paper to try to minimize the clean up.... but this year i am thinking about the soft
shelf liner that you see in the stores...?

You should hatch the eggs the way they were incubated. Thats the best way. If they were incubated on their side and you turned them by hand, then you should let them hatch on their side. If they were incubated in a turner that tilted them side to side, then you should hatch them in a egg carton.

I always line the whole bottom of the incubator with paper towels during hatching, its easy clean up and its disposable. I do use the shelf liner sometimes, I put it on top of the paper towels so the eggs dont sit directly on the wet paper towels, and they dont roll around when other chicks kick them. I dont usually use the shelf liner if I am hatching in a carton though.

i incubated them in an automatic turner...
the yellow thing...
so i should get an egg carton or two? i am getting anxious to candle them so i can see how many are good
