Best way to introduce dog with high chase drive to flock

To me I'm not comfortable until I see how they react when the chickens run away. Running away seems to trigger their prey drive. If they can pass that test they are probably OK.
Good point - and we are CERTAINLY not ok yet. Maybe some day!

I would take it slow, make sure your dog knows leave it, has an emergency down/stay command and work on being calm around them. Poodles are super trainable and smart luckily.
We have been working on "leave it" - trying to get him to take an immediate about face and hustle away from whatever he's doing when he hears that. He's starting to pick up on the 'game'. He's very smart - too smart. Also - the polish in your second photo is stunning!
