Best way to rid myself of foot long (not including tail) rats??

I used an electronic trap for years and loved it. Last year the rats were as big as the trap and it did not kill them. I have a trail cam video of it walking in and out after eating the bait. After much trial and error I finally found something that worked. I mix dry concrete mix with dry hot cocoa mix and set it out over a dry porous substance. ( I use bread) it has worked well so far

Do something about the feed being scattered around and contain all feed a night. Without containing the feed it is a lost cause.

Starve them out or hire an exterminator .They'll spread disease to you, your family, your pets and your chickens.

Weasels and snakes crawl in rat tunnels and can enter your coop and run .A photo of your set up would help us to determine what would work best to deter rats.

Chances are caustic burns are what kills rather than hardening.
