Well I just got 3 Cornish X chicks-which will be pets not food and I was wondering the best way to turn my Layena pellets into crumbles. My local store does not carry Layena crumbles at the mill so I am going to have to figure out a way to make them chick sized without turning them to dust Lol.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a blender and a Magic Bullet but I am sure there is a setting like that on there somewhere LoL

-- How do you like the Bullet, BTW?? I have been eye-balling it, but put off biting so far. Ha!

I really like it and have used it for EVERYTHING! My mom got it for Xmas for me a few years ago and it has been so easy to use, clean up too. I would recommend it

You might have luck by putting the pellets in a large ziplock bag and rolling them with a rolling pin. I think the blender or food processor will just turn them into dust.

when my young pullet layers wouldn't eat the pellets, i put some in a dish, added water just to soak them, used my hand to crumble the pelletts and then plopped it into their feed dish/trough.
it made a lumpy crumble that they ate right up!!

I usually made enough in a 5 gallon bucket for several days, as it soaked up all the water it got stiff but just crumble it up again before you feed 'em.
as a treat I mixed in some scratch as well but only very little - didn't want them to stick their beeks in the air if i ever served them a portion w/o the scratch in it.
