Best webcam/video recorder for dusty/webby chicken environment?

I would like to get a webcam or some other camera device to be able to catch my egg-eating chickens. Actually, it would be nice if I could get a video recorder so I could review it after work and catch the offending party.

However, my coop has enough dust and spider webs in it that after about a week, everything is covered with a fine layer of dust.

Any ideas how to protect or install the cam/camera? Do the cameras really work at night (not that they're laying at night; I'm just curious)?

Any other ideas?
