The largest New World quail is the Mountain quail, avg. weight 26oz.

Yes, New World quail make a mess eating just like Old World quail.

Yes, you can clip New World quails wings but why? ....you can not "free range" them, so why clip their wings?

It varies depending upon the species but in general, anywhere from 25 to 100 eggs/ season.

Most New World quail will on average mature at 12 to 15 weeks. That's mature....they may or may not lay eggs at that age, depending on the time of the year they hatched, they could possibly not start laying for another season.

New World quail can articulate their toes like song birds, so they can perch on limbs or round perches as well as flat perches.

Depending upon which variant of Bob's you choose you can have birds that will range in size from 10 - 12oz for Northern Bobwhites to 28oz. for Butler Bobwhites. Snowflake, Mexican Speckled and Tennessee Red Bobwhites will weigh in the range of 12 to 15oz.
