How do you get it on there or to stand still?
Haha I was sitting back not sure if we were talking about weighing a chicken in a kitchen or weighing one in a coop. To get a rough weight of a chicken in the field, the best way I've found is to bring a bathroom scale and a square of plywood out to wherever your chicken is. Put the scale on the plywood for a flatish/levelish surface. Weigh yourself and then pick the chicken up and weigh yourself with the chicken and subtract the first reading from the second. It's kind of involved, but it can be really helpful to know if your chickens are ready to butcher or not to weigh a few of them like this. Subtract 30% from the whole weight of the chicken and you will get a estimated final butchered weight.
