I need some more help breaking my little broody broody pants. I know about wire cage broody jail, but I need something to keep from starting to brood so often in the first place. She had 2 broods in addition to breaking several broody spells inbetween the 2 broods I let her have. She is little over 1 year old. Now when I come home she is on the nest again giving me the broody squawk.

She is still rather underweight from her last broody spell (then stress molt right after). Surely there MUST be something I can put in her water or SOMETHING. This is getting old fast and I am worried about her health. Maybe I could fill some eggs with the freezer pak gel and chill her bum that way. How often does a broody hen try to brood? Will she be less broody in subsequent years. How many times is it ok for a hen to brood?

Yes dunking her body in some cold water, several times a day for just a day or so will do it, has to do with bringing their body temp down. it works.
