I love the heat plate, and so do they. I've ordered a second one because it's getting a bit crowded under there. They might be ok without it, but I'm not trusting that spring is really here yet and I don't want to have to resort to heat lamps.
The tables were easier on my back and knees, but my arms aren't quite long enough to easily reach all corners of the 54" crate lol. But when they arrived I was afraid the garage floor might still be too cold; otherwise I probably could have just started with an ex-pen. Now they have to learn about me being a giant and I'm a little scary. The bantam D'uccles and GLW seem to be the bravest at the moment. They're in the garage, and our driveway is gravel so any sand that escapes the tarps can just be swept into the driveway.
