I guess that I didn’t plan well enough.
This is my first coop, and I have 13 young ladies, eight weeks old tomorrow, ready to move in.
My issue is that I believe I made the nesting boxes too high; the bottoms are 28” off the floor.
My roosts are 28” and 40”.
It’s tough to move the 28” one up due to a window.
Also the pop door is under the roosts, so the poop board would only be about 5” below the 28” roost.
Help!
Thank you!

Once they start laying they will be able to jump up into the nest boxes, or you could make little steps up, the roosts are fine, they’ll jump up onto to them, you are probably going to have better luck with the roosts and them using them more then the nesting boxes, because they will have to just up the lay an egg.

At first they might sleep on the floor for a few nights and get used to their new home.

Really nice coop! They're going to love that. Maybe add a little "step" outside the boxes so they have somewhere to land when they fly up. I'm thinking a 2x4 that lays across the top of your lower roost bar and attaches to the inside of that stud under the window.
