Between Life and Death RP

~Bryn leapt back in a single bound and automatically plastered herself against the stone wall, trying to look as defiant as possible. "What's wrong with you?" she snapped, trying to calm her flying nerves. "Who told you that you could sneak up on me like that?" Her eyes skimmed his form, noting his immaculate clothing and majestic wings: this tall boy was a Guardian, at least.~

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. You looked like you were in distress." Seiri said apologetic-ly. "My name is Seiri by the way."~

~Bryn bit her lip, inwardly accepting his apology, but hiding it. "I'm Bryn," she muttered finally, walking away from the wall in a gesture of her reassurance, then added in a wry attempt at levity, "A human."~

"Nice to meet Bryn. The way you said that makes me think you are suspicious if my species. I am a Guardian."~

~Bryn nodded slowly. "So I assumed," she replied carefully. "What brings you to this part of town? I don't usually run into Guardians on a daily basis."~

"Most guardians now and days prefer to stay up in the guardian realm and be lazy. There is an exception for a few of us, and I am one. I want to watch over the humans and keep them safe. Why are you alone?"

~Bryn choked back a flaming retort. "My parents are dead," she answered steadily, her eyes surveying him once more. Was there a possibility he could be an undercover Fallen? No, that was highly unlikely- there was absolutely no evidence of fangs lurking within his grin. "And so are my foster parents." Hold on- don't tell him about Fern just yet. You don't quite trust him.~

"I am so sorry." Seiri said frowning. "Life must be hard then. I could never imagine trying to live in the world on my own."~
