Beware the sticky fly strips.

Sorry about your chicken! Poor girl! I would try lots of peanut butter to get the sticky off, then Dawn dish soap to get the peanut butter off. I bought a sticky fly thing last week to control the little fruit flies in my kitchen. I tried to hang it, but it fell, and I caught it. Really caught it-that thing was beyond sticky. Then I touched my glasses. What a mess! It is working on the flies though. Good luck cleaning up your chicken, and that was really smart thinking to use cornstarch to cut the stickiness.

Awww how terrifying that must have been! So glad she got it all worked out.

I set some sticky trays out to catch a mouse once. My son's little black gerbil picked that night to escape. Fortunately I was able to pry his little feet out of the glue and it was a tedious chore getting all of that tacky mess out from between it's toes! But I did and the gerbil lived to tell the story.

Last summer I had a fly strip in the barn. While cleaning the barn one day one of my hens steps on the strip, not the tack, and she has had a limp every since. It doesn't seem to bother her, she just stays closer to the barn when I let them out to free range.

I will never use them again.
