I have been BEYOND stressed this past week...

I mean SERIOUSLY BEYOND STRESSED...

hubby is working his last night for the week...
our anniversary is friday we have plans..

however I'm so stressed that he told me to go do something for myself this wk before the date night..

he said go to the spa..well its $$...

what do you do to relax?

remember; I dont have g'friends to go out with..so it'll just be me...

and I dont care to watch movies by myself or go to eat by myself..just not something I do...

any other ideas??? I'm open to any/all suggestions...

maybe just a partial spa day? i may be able to afford their oh I dunno..water bottles LMBO j/k..

I just like to relax at home in peace and read a good book.

Going to spas and such would stress me out more... lol

Hmm relaxation- I like to get my hair done- not too expensive... I also like to play video games, take a long bath and pedicure/ manicure myself, I also like to play video games, and read books! Oh and of course I LOVE just going outside and sitting with my animals.

Maybe a massage if you can afford it. My DH gave me a spa day for a Christmas gift a few years ago. It included a facial, pedicure, massage, and some other stuff. I never had a massage and felt really uneasy about it but I have to admit it was really relaxing. I actually fell a sleep.

I would get my hair done and maybe a facial. If you have more to spend after that, you could invest in some new make-up, lotions, or perfume. I'm sure hubby would like that too.

When I get stressed, I like to take a long walk in a nice location. A park or hillside or ??? I also like to get a pedicure with a long foot massage. Also there are now many inexpensive massage places that are less than $50 (which is not a lot in San Francisco area) for an hour, so shop around!

Also, check out meetup.com for new friend opportunities. Its a good website.

I also like to go to the museum in our area as it takes my mind off of work or whatever is stressing me out. I can get lost in the displays. I spend the day and go to a lunch place too, one day a week is free at our museums.

I hardly ever have time to purchase makeup, but when I do, I like to go to the dept stores where they try the makeup on your face, for you. I always find some things that look great and are easy to apply. Each item costs more than the drugstore, but I know i love it before I buy it, so no bad choices causing me to waste my money. And the salesgirls know what is on trend and looks right on me.

I know this sounds silly, but i love to spend a saturday in the upscale fabric store in San Francisco. Even if I dont buy anything, I love to finger all the fabrics and dream about sewing something that nice. Sometimes I bring some fabric home if my budget allows.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Go to a bookstore and read a book there

Free!!!

I'm not a spa person, so I'd go outside and just work in the yard. If I had extra money, I would go to Home Depot and the like, and browse through there, and get ideas, and maybe buy something to start a project.

If I was well planned, I would check out the local projects/crafts things going on. The paper from the big city over has a listing of stuff going on, like pottery classes, art classes, etc. Usually they are inexpensive, and fun

do you have a tub.....

set the tubby up for yourself. buy some fresh flowers (put them in a pretty vase in the bathroom), a good book. soothing music.
get in the tub and relax!!!

plus: its cheaper than going to a spa!

Do you have a lake or a pond near you where you can go to? To just sit and relax with no phone, no music, just listen to what's going on around you? Hopefully it's far enough away from any roads to cause a distraction to you. Pack a nice simple lunch (PB&J or your favorite) and sit by the water. Savor the noise around you and enjoy your lunch quietly and slowly

Eat slowly, tasting every bite, No rushing, no thinking about what time it is...just relaxing.

That's what I'd do

Of course, I love nature and would much rather be out in it than in a salon or a shopping center anyday. Or maybe you have a zoo or museum you could go to?

How about going to every store in your downtown area (pick a block) just to see what's inside--with no intention of buying anything, just to see what's inside. That's something that I plan on doing here. I've lived here forever and never been to half of the downtown stores on the main "drag". So I plan on doing that one day soon so when I drive by I can say "that's a really neat store or uh, what a waste! That's something fun you could do by yourself!
