Beyond the Bullseye - Warning: Graphic pictures

Those are amazing. Thank you for sharing. It's wonderful to see the stages of growth--I've always wanted to see that, but never wanted to kill a baby to do it. You didn't have to--thank you for sharing the pictures.

I am really glad everyone has enjoyed and appreciated the educational aspect of the pictures, Thank You. Yeah, I would Never dream of killing something just so I could see how they grow, but when circumstances occur and they die naturally I think that that is an opportunity to learn. It is a little scary cracking that shell and wondering what you will find inside. Especially wondering if there will be any horrid smell. But so far nothing has smelled bad(thank goodness!!). One thing that has come out of this is that I have started researching more about embryonic development in chicks. It is really quite fascinating; particularly when you think of how Very fast they grow. I am glad to be learning more about all of this, thanks for sharing with me!!!

Fantastic picutres! The one of the day 14 quitter is amazing, it's so sad to see it so close and yet didn't make it.

I lost four at hatch, and three during incubation, and opened them all too. One was a day 5 quitter, one day 6 or 7 and one day 10.

Just wish I could have helped the ones at hatch, but then again, the fittest survive, and my chicks are pretty bombproof.

Ewww!!! A friend of mine was saying how in Japan (?), an expensive delicacy is a fertile egg incubated for 20 days, and then aged 100 years. Yuuuuuck!
