Beyond the Horizon
There are five wild horse herds that live in the wilderness of Australia, often called Brumbies. There are many dangers—cowboys, rattlesnakes, dingoes, wolves. There are even the dangers of other herds; stallions will fight others and steal mares. Loner stallions will get mares and start a herd. Aside from those dangers, life can be good.

Desert Herd
Desert Herd is a group of horses that can live a long time without water and are use to the hot sun. Most of them are light colors, like white and grey; sometimes red roan or bay. For water they find an oasis. Even though they can go without water for a couple of days, if they don't find water, they can perish. Sandstorms occur in their territory, and sometimes horses will get separated from the rest of the herd. The Great Australian Desert is surrounded by canyons/large rocks. Rattlesnakes live in the desert, so watch out.
Outback Herd
Outback Herd is a herd of brumbies who live in the outback (duh). The outback is similar to the desert, but there is more shade and water. The horses are different colors, but few are black. Dingoes and wolves are a threat to this herd. The horses are fast, though, so 8 times out of 10 they will outrun them.
Solar Herd
This herd lives in the outback too, so it really isn't much different. They often fight with Outback Herd are aren't the friendliest. They are fast, even faster than Outback Herd, since there aren't many trees. And they are excellent fighters, so don't start trouble with them.
Tree Herd
Tree Herd lives in woodland, where there is grass, fresh plants, and trees, of course, for shade. There is a small creek that flows through it. Tree Herd would rather run from a fight then fight, even though they are very strong and stocky from their plentiful and healthy diets of vegetation. Appaloosas, pintos, paints, and dapples make up the herd. They aren't fast and most are pretty round and fat. Their predators are wolves, who live in packs and attack the horses. Since the territory is wooded and full of trees, they can't escape very easily. Wolves rarely kill the horses, but they can get minor wounds, maybe even fatal.
River Herd
The Darling River is where these wild horses dwell. They can swim well. Their foals are taught to swim when they are a few days old. River Herd doesn't have many predators, but cowboys come every summer to round them up. They are mostly always in the water. Different varieties of horses live here, since many loners join the herd.
Mountain Herd
Mountain Herd lives in the Great Dividing Range. The terrain is rocky and rough. The brumbies are sure-footed though, which means their hooves can grip onto the rock. Sometimes it is hazardous running through the mountains. There is a plain of plants and grass in between the mountains and plenty of water sources. The herd isn't near any others, other than loner horses who occasionally trespass into their territory.
Loners
Loners are horses who have no herd. They are either former colts of a herd who were kicked out, mares who wandered away from their herd to find a mate or horses who were born loners. Loner mares either join herds or make a herd with another loner stallion. They are nomads so they live everywhere.
